interpreting OSCAR data - NicoFR - 01-03-2024

Hello at all and happy new year !

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea >40 and been given a dream station 1 by my cardiologist.

During the first week everything was perfect, I felt I was alive again. No more tiredness, brain was on all the time...

However, after some time, I felt bad again during the day.

from what I see on the Oscar, AHI is perfect, no apnea. But I still feel terrible.
this is last night :

I don't really know what to do. I tried different things like upping the pressure (up to 13 min) : no success.
I got it back to 9 or 10 not better...

could the pressure still be too high ? my tinnitus seems to be worse (or just because I feel knackered)

First. EVERY dreamstation built before June 2021 has been recalled. That means ALL of them (except the DreamStation 2 which also has some recalls), the question is has yours been refurbished since then. Here is the single longest thread ever on apneaboard discussing this.

You could be still having flow limitations, which dreamstation doesn't track, and have UARS. Please provide several 3-minute screenshots of your charts.
We are looking to see how your flow rate compares to these

thank you so much Gideon for taking time to look at the data.
i include the screen grabs.
if it helps I also have this thing called sleep hq where I can send the charts.

please find 3 of them enclosed.

regarding the dream station, yes I raised my concerns to the "nurse". She said that they were aware of this recall and that all of their machines were ok.

I tried to find out with the serial number but could not find out if they were honest...

Hello
I expressed my concerns about the dreamstation and she said it was a new generation !

Then, as I seemed stressed as I’m coughing. She offered a lowenstein prisma

Ask about a ResMed AutoSet.
Your charts show a lot of Arousals disturbing your sleep. Of CPAPs the Dreamstation, because of the way they manage flow limitations is about the worst you can use.

Look on the bottom of the Dreamstation, I think the label with the serial number is there.

Thanks Gideon

I will see what they say as I asked for a resmed.

I see you mention airflow limitations ? How does one fix that ?
Gave a good day

RE: interpreting OSCAR data - NicoFR - 01-05-2024

Just a quick heads up to report that I now have a resmed airsense 11
She set it up at 9-14

RE: interpreting OSCAR data - Gideon - 01-05-2024

Flow limitations are best managed with a differential pressure between inhale and exhale. It is the use of EPR that does this on your cpap. Try EPR=3, Fulltime. We may need to adjust min pressure depending on the results.

RE: interpreting OSCAR data - NicoFR - 01-05-2024

trying that !
I still looking for a way to change all settings, brand new machine for me.

so I leave it at 9 - 14 and set EPR at 3
will report tomorrow then
