New software version doesn't view properly, wide screen mode? - piratekitty - 02-08-2024

I just got a new computer and downloaded the new version of Oscar,  1.5.1     and it does not view properly.   I found a thread here showing the issue but the only resolution was to switch back to 1.4     When I go to the appearances tab I cannot get the pop up window to resize to fit the screen.   I cannot apply any changes because I don't see the bottom of the window.     It says the app is in wide screen mode.   I don't want this.    I cannot read anything on the pages and my graphs are wide but not tall.   Everything looks smooshed.     I have no idea how to fix this and I cannot find anywhere to download the older version.

Ok   I think I fixed it.     I had to go to my display resolution and decrease the font size.   This made everything almost unreadable,  but decreased the window size so I could see the buttons to apply changes.   I then activated the high resolution display button and restarted oscar.    I also reset my computer diplay back to the recommended settings.     Now all my graphs look proper and I can see and read everything.

That's good to hear. You did a good job.

I have a dell inspiration 16plus that has 3072x1920 display.
the recommended scale settings are 200% and i use that.
For OSCAR I set the following
Application font size 10 normal
Graph text font size 9 normal
Graph title font size 8 bold
Big Text font size 35

when view-> reset graph heights is checked then 9 graphs are displayed.
I typically use the layout button to save the graph layout (order and size of graphs).
I don't use the high resolution mode.

For resolutions small than 1920 x 1024 i don't change default settings.
