Please Help new to CPAP - jmperez1013 - 03-08-2024 I'm trying to replicate one of my only good AHI Scores and cant find a solution. I just started on CPAP 3 weeks ago. I have both an F20 Mask and Simplus Mask. I notice less leaks with the F20 mask but the Simplus is more comfortable. The Simplus also feels like less overall pressure. My best night was with the F20 mask with an AHI of 5.83 Pressure of 7-12 EPR (2) ON FULL TIME Response: Soft. My Second best night was using the Simplus Mask with an AHI of 10.94 Pressure of 7-12 EPR (1) Full Time Response: Standard The Third Best night was using Simplus Mask with an AHI of 11.05 Pressure of 8-11.8 EPR (1) Full Time Response: Standard With EPR off I got really bad bloating and stomach aches. You had some positional apnea showing as grouped H events. Some of the Centals could possible related to positional apnea also. Getting rid of as many as you can will lower your AHI. Positional apnea can NOT be controlled by pressure changes. You have to find out what position you are getting into and cutting off your own airway. Have you changed your sleep position? Sleeping on your back? Using more (or new) pillows? These things can cause positional apnea by chin dropping to your sternum and cutting your airway. Think of it of a kinked hose – nothing can get through – you have to unkink the hose… IF you can’t make a simple change like changing to a flatter pillow helps then you will need a collar. I have a link to collars in my signature at the bottom of the page. It shows people who are not wearing a collar and the SAME person wearing a collar. There is a huge difference between the two. RE: Please Help new to CPAP - jmperez1013 - 03-10-2024 Thank you for your input. I saw that the usual sign of positional apnea is Hypopneas and Obstructive combined. I do not and rarely have any labeled obstructive events. I'm going to try out the Cervical Collar. |
