One machine says I'm treated, another suggests I'm not - shawsg - 03-10-2024 Hello, I have a strange situation. I have two machines: an Airsense 10 and a Lowenstein Prismasmart. According to the Airsense, my data is good, <1 AHI, pretty even breathing. I have both machines set to fixed cpap, same settings. EPR 3 and Softpap 2, pressure @ 14.5 The Lowenstein data is terrible - it shows cheyne stokes @ 6% and the flow chart looks bad. it also shows no deep sleep. AHI is 8+ The data is like night and day. One suggests the therapy is working, the other, not so much. If i didn't have the Lowenstein I'd think I was ok, but perhaps I'm not. Which should I trust and what should I do? I subjectively feel the same until I look at the data here's sleep HQ for the airsense: https://sleephq.com/public/8fba56f4-dca2-416d-8867-25876fb86547 and a PDF of oscar for the lowenstein enclosed. thanks for your thoughts. It would be more interesting to see zoomed images of the two devices at 2-3 minutes to get an idea of what your respiratory flow wave looks like. I'm pretty sure you will see a lot of flattened inspiratory peaks on the Lowenstein, but not the Resmed. There may be minor differences in the way the devices report events, but the flow rate wave form does not lie. I would retire the Lowenstein. RE: One machine says I'm treated, another suggests I'm not - shawsg - 03-10-2024 well I feel about the same on both, but one says I'm gonna die of heart disease in 10 years and the other one says I'll live a lot longer. which do I heed? RE: One machine says I'm treated, another suggests I'm not - Sleeprider - 03-10-2024 Without closer examination of the flow rate, I'm guessing your perception of equal therapy may be off. |
