OSCAR Reports Omitted Some ResMed Sleep Sessions - RTolley - 03-14-2024 On the morning of 02/21/24 (CPAP day 02/20/24), I discovered that the OSCAR info for the previous night's sleep did not match the length of my actual sleep. Also, not all the sessions that I slept were included in the OSCAR's Daily Report graphs. They were also omitted from the "Session Information" section at the bottom left of the screen. ResMed's MyAir app did report my actual sleep hours. I wanted to know if there were other cases where OSCAR reported less time than MyAir. By the time I started looking into this, the same thing had happened the next day (CPAP day 02/21/24). The MyAir App data history only goes back about 30 days. In that time, I found this also happened on CPAP day 02/05/24. The days where OSCAR omitted hours are given in the table below. The other days in the 30-day history matched. ---------- Days where OSCAR and MyAir Differ ------- CPAP Day: 02/05/24 02/20/24 02/21/24 OSCAR total hrs: 02:09 06:03 00:48 MyAir total hrs: 04:24 14:30 04:10 Initial investigation shows that: 01. For 02/20/24 & 02/21/24, the hours displayed by MyAir represent the actual hours I remember sleeping with the CPAP (ResMed 11 AirSense Autoset). For 02/05/24, I don't specifically remember the hours that I slept, but MyAir indicates I slept 04:24, and I have no reason to doubt that amount. 02. All my sleep sessions for the days in the table above were recorded on the CPAP SD card, and I see the corresponding .gz zip files that were imported into the OSCAR database in Documents\OSCAR_Data\Profiles \RTolley\ResMed_22232320548\Backup\DATALOG\2024. 03. Sleep sessions equal to the omitted OSCAR report data are on the SD card (see attachments). Has this issue affected any other OSCAR users? In any case, I didn't want to neglect reporting it. Any advice or assistance about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rick Tolley RE: OSCAR Reports Omitted Some ResMed Sleep Sessions - Crimson Nape - 03-14-2024 Hi RTolley! - You are not alone. Recently it happened to me. I've found that the Resmed CPAP is apt to put an erroneous date/time in the data edf file. OSCAR uses this when importing the data. If you duplicate your SD card's data, and delete the DATALOG directory, then import this data, the missing sessions will be reported, but only as summary data. When only summary data is available, OSCAR uses the session date and times in the STR.edf file. Testing has shown that ResScan uses, the dates and times from the STR.edf file with or without detailed data. If you choose to import summary only, I would recommend that you create a secondary profile. One other cause is when someone imports their data before they have totally completed all sleep sessions for that day. In that case, if you delete that day's data and then re-import your data, it will pick it up. - Red RE: OSCAR Reports Omitted Some ResMed Sleep Sessions - RTolley - 03-17-2024 Thanks very much for your very quick response. I will not bother with any workarounds as this will not affect my ability to manage my condition. Mostly, I just wanted to be sure that others were aware of this happening. Also, it removes some of the mystery of what's happening, which is always a good thing. Rick |
