Former CPAP supplier over charging - Bwanajohn51 - 03-15-2024 I changed medicare plans 1/1/24. My former CPAP provider continued to rent & bill me the co-pay even though I changed plans. After the provider learned I changed plans they are trying to bill $275 per month for a machine that retails for less than $600. My monthly co-pay was $17. I have a number of questions. 1. Is Medicare getting ripped off by my DME supplier? Doing the math, $275 + $17 = $292/month. 2. Can they be making almost $300/month for a machine that costs >$600? Any suggestions on how I can avoid this exorbitant bill? My first reaction is to let them take me to small claims. Is there an avenue to complain/report to Medicare? Any help is much appreciated. RE: Former CPAP supplier over charging - Nightynite - 03-16-2024 Medicare knows what’s going on. Go to Medicare website and read all about DME’s and how they bill and get paid. You can even register on the Medicare site and see your claims , payment and how to file a complaint. RE: Former CPAP supplier over charging - Bwanajohn51 - 03-16-2024 thanks |
