OSCAR v1.5.2 Not Working on My Chromebook - fixed it - 03-25-2024 I use Oscar on a Chromebook. About 3 weeks ago Linux prompted to me update. When i did, everything Oscar stopped working. I was able to restore the old Linux version and Oscar started working again. Might the updated Oscar version be designed to work with the new Linux update? RE: OSCAR v1.5.2 Not Working on My Chromebook - Crimson Nape - 03-25-2024 Since your post is about installation problems, I split it into its own thread here in the Software Support Forum. Which version of the 6 Chromebook distros did you try? Also, did you run a checksum verification to validate your download? - Red RE: OSCAR v1.5.2 Not Working on My Chromebook - LoudSnorer - 03-25-2024 can you provide the log file ... /<OSCAR-DATA>/logs/debug.txt Maybe that will shed some light on the issue. RE: OSCAR v1.5.2 Not Working on My Chromebook - fixed it - 03-26-2024 I admit to being rather confused on this one. Any help greatly appreciated. When I try to update Oscar I get this message: You are running the latest release of OSCAR You are running OSCAR 1.4.0+e35d47b3 I get this message but when I do this Linux upgrade Oscar stops working. An upgrade to Debian 12 (Bookworm) is available Current version is Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) RE: OSCAR v1.5.2 Not Working on My Chromebook - Crimson Nape - 03-26-2024 It's because Sleepfiles.com is now an "HTTPS" site, and the code in the older versions will not connect. - Red |
