Help with OSCAR data to help improve sleep - Akaharu - 04-04-2024

Hello everyone,

I recently discovered this board a little while ago, but it overwhelmed me a bit. But now that I'm familr with it and used OSCAR for about 3 weeks or so, I feel I have enough data to request help on how I can improve my sleep.

I've recently had a difficult time with sleeping, actually for the past year. Some insomnia, some having to do with anxiety, and some stress. I now feel it might have to do with my CPAP machine, at least partly. I've also taken steps to start to reduce anxiety with breathing techniques, natural remedies prescribed by my Primary, and meditation like exercises before bed.

Back in 2018, I had an at home sleep study with a AHI of 7.2. I had 41 apneas, 0 central apneas, and 36 hypopneas. Lowest Spo2 was 78% wutg average of 95%. I was diagnosed with mild/moderate OSA. I was prescribed an AirSense 10 Autoset APAP. The range was from 5-15 pressure. I started off with a full face mask, but I really didn't like the fit and felt a bit claustrophobic by it. So I changed to the N30i standard mask with small  nose pieces. Although since then I have gained some weight.

During the past month, I've tried a few ideas to get my sleep as restful as it can be. After watching some Youtube videos from LankyLefty, I was able to determine that  my mouth pops open during sleep. So I first tried a chin strap, but after discovering that it may not help, I stopped using it.  I turned off my ramp and tried mouth tape a few times. I also checked what settings my CPAP is set at. EPR is on to setting 3 and my pressure is still set to 5-15. I also have humidity set on as well.

I've brought up with my doctor that I've had issues with stress after waking up, but she saw my data and really wasn't helpful at all. So this is why I started this journey of getting my settings adjusted and other ideas from Youtube and the reading the sleep apnea subreddit.

I've attached 3 screenshots of my OSCAR data. First one is without mouth tape, second one is with mouth tape, and third one is from last night without mouth tape. Any help interpreting the results would be appreciated.

I can add more detailed zoomed in photos if needed.

I've attached one more since I saw that the one above isn't from last night.

How did the night FEEL. Better sleep, less leaks, lower over all - how was it.

It felt better. Lungs did hurt a tiny bit after waking up and I feel fine now. I do feel rested compared to the last few days.

I changed it to 8.4 minimum. Here are the last three nights.

I start my sleep on my right side and end up on my back. If I start on my back, I notice congestion gets in the way of breathing, but it clears up when I'm on my right side, at least lately. It's been off and on like this since I was sick in January. I had covid in January, but it went away quickly. My sleep has improved lately, but last two days I've not been getting as much,

This morning, I noticed,. when I was on my back I was congested and my heart was beating a bit faster so I switched to my side and the congestion cleared up like its been doing, but couldn't get back to sleep.
