OSCAR Overview Line Graph - Jan Flikweert - 04-16-2024

Hi all,

From OSCAR main menu I  select [file] [preferences] [appearance] [overview linecharts] and choose [line charts].

OSCAR does not show Line Charts in tab Overview. How to get Line charts in Overview?

Kind regards,

Jan Flikweert

That option is a holdover from SleepyHead.  I don't believe that it was ever implemented.

Hi,

Thanks.

An other way to make the tab Overview usefull is to let the user choose from median, 95% of 99,5%. These 3 together as bars gives no good overview.

Kind regards,

Jan Flikweert

As far as I know, there isn't any 95% and 99.5% representation. What graph are you seeing this in? There is minimum, average, and maximum. The AHI graph is displaying the types of events in a different color.

Or, maybe I'm not understanding your post. It would not be the first time I did this.

Hi,

Indeeed you are right. This does not change my message. Present these 3 values in a line graph or one value in a bar graph.

Kind regards,

Jan Flikweert

This option is used only to graph non-pap data : Weight, BMI, and Feelings.
This option should have a tooltip to indicate how this is used.

Hi,

Thanks. That clarifys.

OSCAR is a wunderfull program.

The only wish is linegraphs in the tab "Overview". That part of my initial post does not change.

Kind regards,

Jan FLikweert

I can not envision what you are requesting.

Can you please describe exactly what you want to see?

Hi,

As an example I want to send a graph to my OSAS nurse regarding my median tidal volume. Min, Max and 95% I do not want to show her.

I added an attachment. I only want to show the parts of the bars marked with a "boxed red line", the median. Other people would like to see other values. That discussion is not relevant.

To make it diffucult you can choose:
1. Choose wich value must be boxed and add graph lines for other values
2. All values in a full line-graph

I attached an example of Flow Limitation 95% and 99,5% and a short period of Tidal Volume.

Kind regards,

Jan Flikweert

You basically want a line chart instead of a mixed bar chart that displays multiple values.

  1. This implies a mechanism to select which which values to display.
So only the median value can be optionally be displayed
  2. This also implies displaying a line chart type instead of a bar chart.
Why is a line chart required. The top of a single value bar chart would give an outline of the graph requested.
  3. Is the tidal Volume the only graph that is impacted
Are there other graphs that would be required?
  4. How would this improve user's ability to interpret their data?
