Won't load profile - Sonoma 14.4.4 MacBook Pro - breathingwell - 04-17-2024

I have not used Oscar for almost a year.  I downloaded the latest version on my MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.4.  The program loads, but hangs when trying to load my Profile.  I have read another thread for the same type of issue but that fix did not work on my computer.  I notice that my Data/Profile is not stored on the computer, but on the iCloud.  

I am going to delete the file from the iCloud and try setting up Oscar as a new user.  Or is there a better solution?

I found my answer.  As I suspected and also found this in another members post, the OSCAR Data file must reside on my MacBook and not on the iCloud.  I went to the Settings icon and selected my User name, then iCloud, then selected iCloud Drive and deselected Desktop and Documents.  I just talked to Apple Support and they said I can not select just one folder, such as Oscar Data to keep on the computer.  It is all or nothing.  

After turning off the iCloud Desktop and Documents setting it took about 30 minutes for the Oscar Data to download to the MacBook.  I then moved the file from the Desktop where it was saved by the system to my Documents - Local folder and opened Oscar.  It all works now correctly.

OK, I followed this through deselecting Desktop and Documents. But after that, what?
