Oscar 1.5.3 for Linux freezes after clicking on 'CPAP Importer'. - Mast04 - 05-03-2024

When I want to import my latest CPAP data in OSCAR 1.5.3 by clicking on the 'CPAP Importer' button the programs becomes frozen, clicking onto 'Choose a folder' doesn't do anything. In the Linux terminal I have to enter the command 'pkill OSCAR' in order to kill this running instance of this program. I run OSCAR under Linux Mint 20.3 Xfce edition, which is based upon Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa).

When I run 'OSCAR' in the Linux terminal, I get the following debug output:

RE: Oscar 1.5.3 for Linux freezes after clicking on 'CPAP Importer'. - Mast04 - 05-03-2024

But when I wait a few minutes after clicking on the 'CPAP Importer' button, the window 'CPAP Data Located' still appears and I can still import my CPAP data from the SD-Card of my ResMed Airsense 10 CPAP. But why does it takes a few minutes before I can import them, this problem didn't exist before.

Debugging output in the Linux terminal:

How did you install the version ?
I mean : Did you download a deb file ? If yes, what if the URL ? Did you test the file which the SHA256 signature ?
Or did you compile your how version ? If yes, which commit number did you use ?

RE: Oscar 1.5.3 for Linux freezes after clicking on 'CPAP Importer'. - untoutseul05 - 05-03-2024

Could you test the following process ?
- copy the content of the sdcard on your hard-drive in a folder created just for that (for exemple : /home/xxx/Documents/sdcard/YYYMMDD) where xxx is your user and YYYMMDD is the date with year, month, day
- use the folder to import to OSCAR and not the SDCARD.

Notice : I'm using the Linux version with a Ubuntu 22.04 and I didn't notice what.
but I'm using the previous way to import the data into OSCAR.

I downloaded and installed it from https://www.apneaboard.com/OSCAR/1.5.3/oscar_1.5.3-Ubuntu20_amd64.deb 'Ubuntu 20.04', I didn't test the file with the SHA256 signature.

I made a test profile in Oscar, I opened it and I clicked on the 'CPAP Importer' button and after waiting several minutes the window 'Find your CPAP data card' appeared in which I can choose the content folder of the SD-Card data to import data from. The problem is that just after clicking on the 'CPAP Importer' button in the 'Welcome' tab, OSCAR freezes for a while before any dialogue box about importing CPAP data appears. Could it be that OSCAR is polling the file system in order to find any location?

Could you test the deb file ?
The file with the signatures is in the same address.
Once you've downloaded the file, you open a terminal and go to the folder with the deb file & the test file.
you can test it with the command :
Code:
sha256sum --ignore-missing -c OSCAR-1.5.3-checksums.txt
it takes a while and says ok or fail

"Could it be that OSCAR is polling the file system in order to find any location?"
Yes. It is something like what. What's why I asked to you to use your hard drive and a special folder.
It poll less things on a drive which is faster than the SDCARD drive.

RE: Oscar 1.5.3 for Linux freezes after clicking on 'CPAP Importer'. - Mast04 - 05-03-2024

This problem has now miraculously been disappeared, importing from my SD-Card in OSCAR is now with any problems again, without any freezing. When I don't have any SD-Card of my CPAP inserted into my card reader, a blue progress bar appears just after clicking the 'CPAP Importer' button after which the window 'Find your CPAP data card' appears.
