I got New Airsense 10 from DME. MyAir no longer works - silverchief2 - 05-23-2024

update oops. I tried to log into into Airview instead of myair. Stay tuned.
I logged in OK. I will see if it updates the data.

I had an onsite sleep study long ago. Skip to the bold part if you wish.
I got a AirSense 10 Autoset maybe 10 years go from a HMO.  I later got consumables from a DME after having a visit with a new Sleep RN to get an Rx.
I think I had a later remote televisit to get another Rx,

I asked the DME about remote data access and she falsely told me that my machine was too old to use the cell towers.

i put my SD card in my PC and used Resmed to upload it maybe Dec 2023. I was asked if I wanted to overwrite the data, dated from when I took my CPAP into the DME so they could upload it to my sleep RN. Therefore the DME used ResScan or used other SW that put it in the same place as ResScan and this data was reviewed by the sleepRN.
I overwrote the data. I asked the sleep RN to view the data, as they had before from the DME. They refused.

In Dec 2023 switched on the modem in my machine then made an Airview account. Every since, i logged my sleep data via Airview. Note that no one, not sleepRN or DME ever told me anything useful about remote data access. Not ResScan or Airview.

I just got a new Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset from the DME using yet another Rx from a sleepPA. Covered by Medicare. The SleepPA said it is not possible that I had set up the MyAir account. The DME said they used some SW, maybe myair or airview to transfer my old sd card, not ResScan. The DME said I could view the myair data on the patient part of myair.

I cannot access myair anymore. Someone broke it. It does not seem to recognize my login email. I will keep trying. What to do?

Have you ever uploaded the data from the SD card into Oscar? That would be my first step, MyAir is very minimal and we don't really use it ...

How did you get access to ResMed's AirView? It is usually reserved for professionals (DMEs and Physicians). DMEs use AirView to upload SD card data and make it available to your physician if they are registered to see the data. ResScan is used for in-office use and does not have connectivity with AirView.

For myAir, you must have an account, and your machine must be registered using the serial number and device ID found on the label. Try creating a new account with the new machine information. If your new machine is a card-to-cloud device or has a non-functioning modem, no data will be automatically uploaded, and myAir will become useless.

Your DME should upload your SD card data into AirView as a courtesy during the initial rental period if only to meet Medicare's compliance requirements. Don't forget the face-to-face visit if you want Medicare to keep paying for the 13-month rental. After 13 months, the machine becomes your property.

I have not used Oscar yet. I will have a new SD card to populate in my new machine.
I checked myAir and it worked with the new machine.
It seems that AirView might be for the sleep MDs and DMEs and myAir is the portal for patients to see the same data.

srlevine1  Thank you for the detailed reply.
I got myAir and Airview confused at first.

The original seller, an HMO tech, never told me of the modem or activated anything .

The DME (falsely) told me my old Resmed CPAP modem was too old to work with modern cell towers.
They used some software to upload my SD card so the sleep RN could see it.

Much later I found ResScan and uploaded the SD card to the same place as the DME had much earlier uploaded my SD card.
I know this because ResScan asked if I wanted to over write the data having the same date as the DME upload.

Then I activated my CPAP modem. Then I created a myAir account using the CPAP serial number and ID. A day or two later I could track my CPAP usage for the first time in maybe 10 years. I did this thanks to this board. No thanks to any sleep medical person or DME. I honestly think they do not know most of this info.

I changed my myAir serial number and ID no and myAir started tracking my usage again!

Your sleep tech was correct about the modem, but they needed to give more context. Older CPAP machines use 3G modems, but 3G technology is rapidly being phased out in the States. 3G may still work in some areas, but it likely will be completely gone in the near future. Best not to rely on 3G.

CPAP devices built in the last few years are all 4G devices. Eventually 4G will be aged out as well and replaced with 5G, but that is still years out.

OSCAR works regardless of cellular service types in your area. It also will give the best charts you can look at, for free.

Some years ago my husband used to take his SD card to his doctor every so often and they got the usage information they needed from that.  Then he took it back home and popped it back into his machine.  Maybe your doctor would allow you to do that too.

I agree that Oscar is the best. I don't know if doctors accept Oscar charts, but if they do you could email the charts to them. I'm not sure about the timing, but I think it's once a month. Someone can correct this if I'm wrong. If Oscar works that would be the easiest.

MyAir report said 4G if that means anything.

You should be good for the next 10+ years transmitting data. I assume the sleep tech did not realise you had a 4G modem.
