Help/advice with Astral 150 - costaricaraftguide - 06-02-2024 Hello! I'm using an astral 150 for shallow breathing while I sleep. i weigh 72 kg so the machine is set to an Avg Vt tidal volume of 595 ml , MV 5.4 L/min and avg vt/kg 8.1 ml/kg. I just double checked those numbers. BUT on the Rescan compliance report for the past 30 days I see a 5% tidal volume of 924 ml median 1170 ml and 95% of 1506. I feel if I really was receiving 924 ml of tidal I'd feel a strong pressure. It doesn't feel that strong. it feels like a normal cpap machine like I was using years ago. If I really am receiving a median tidal volume of 1170 I'd be at risk of blowing my lungs out..... thoughts? RE: Help/advice with Astral 150 - Jay51 - 06-02-2024 I had the Astral 150 for about a month several years ago. I remember my average Vt tidal volume was set at 400, 450, and then finally set at 500. I think something is off on your machine and/or software reporting. I am 6'2. Unless you an absolute giant, I think 1170 ml would be very difficult, if not impossible to sleep with IMO. A 95% of 1560 ml is very massive also. I have a question for you also, costaricaraftguide. The Astral turned out to be unusable for me due to setting off at least 7 different alarms with my breathing pattern at night. Does your breathing set off any alarms on the Astral during sleep? If so, which ones? Thank you very much and I wish you well. |
