Cannot Open OSCAR - gymrat - 06-08-2024

I have downloaded OSCAR. I have put it in my applications. My computer, iMAC (2020) OS Sonoma 14.5 will not open it. It says that it won't open it because it cannot guarantee that it is free of malware.

How do I fix this?

First, OSCAR is a safe app, one way to force open on Mac is right click on the OSCAR downloaded file, there should be Open but it'll result in beginning to load. At least I've been able to with my things on the Mac Mini.

Here's what Apple support says, applies to Sonoma 14:

"1. In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.

Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.

2. Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.

3. Click Open.

The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app."

Thanks Sarcastic Dave. I followed your instructions and OSCAR is installed.
