Resmed Air Touch F 40 early experiences - sleepingbetterinFl - 06-15-2024

I just switched from the Resmed Airtouch F30 to the new F 40.  WOW what a world of difference.  I am getting great seal and mask way more comfortable.  One thing I notice is the cushion sometimes covers one nostril where the divider is between the two holes on the nose part of the cushion.   I have to adjust it in order to not obstruct my nasal passage .  Any one have early experiences with this mask?  Do you find it better than the F30?

I tried it (on an F20 airfit now) but can't deal with the feeling of the silicone on my nostrils unfortunately) Sad

I switched to the f40 a few weeks ago - pretty much zero leaks with this mask, even with being an active side sleeper. On the negative side - I need to keep the straps tightened more than I like to maintain that leak-fee status.

I miss the top hose attachment point of the f30i, but not having to deal with leaks makes up for any frustration with hose management.

I'm getting curious about the F40 mask. Gonna give one a try the next time it's time to reorder supplies.  Cool

I have the same experience with the divider covering a nostril on the F40. I got over it. The mask has been the least leaky mask I’ve ever used. Comfy, too. I have found, though, that it can be super leaky if a) it’s old-ish; b) after it's been efficiently washed in Dawn and water; c) if the pressure is high; d) if it’s not tight. In the case of b), I have to wipe the mask and my face with a CPAP wipe. Voilà, super sticky on my face, zero leaks.

I’ve found I can’t use the F40 at over 13 pressure. It blows off.

This mask sounds like it’s leaking , even if it’s not. I have verified this via Oscar.

Overall though you like the F40?  I think it is great as I’m getting good sleep for the first time in months !

If you’re asking me, @sleeping better in FL, yes, I’m super happy with the F40.

Make sure you enter “pillows” on your unit, though. For some reason, the unit doesn’t classify it as FFM.

I have been using the F40 for almost two months.  I used to use the dreamports but I hated taping.  The f40 is so quiet, my AHI is always under 0.3 and the leaks are minimal.  I now use the f40 as my primary mask.

I've been happy with the F40, as others have said the seal is superior to any. mask I had in the past.  Also, I find it very comfortable.

I see others have had issue with one nostril getting/feeling blocked at time. That is the only downfall I've noticed as well.
