ResMed making noise at altitude - GManCPAP2019 - 06-23-2024 I recently traveled to some high altitude locations (Sante Fe, Grand Canyon, Denver, Lake Tahoe) and my ResMed CPAP started making noise. Higher the altitude the more noise made. The noise would go away when I was back at a lower altitude. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas on what can be done to eliminate or reduce the noise so I and my wife can sleep? RE: ResMed making noise at altitude - ArcherNeedsSleep - 06-24-2024 Living at a higher altitude (7300+ feet), I would say that the CPAP machines just have to work harder to provide the same pressure, so they make more noise. (They claim they can handle altitude, but I think they're a little bit optimistic about how well they handle it.) I travel a lot and I've found that I do better with my minimum pressure set 1-2 points higher at altitude. I lower it by 1-2 when I go to sea level, and then raise it back up when I get home. |
