How to reduce my events? - slipperslacroix - 07-27-2024

Ive been using my CPAP machine since beginning of May this year and have been avergaing 2/3 events per night. My initial sleep study showed about 7.5 events/hr. When i met with my dr last month i told her about this, and we swapped out my mask, which helped a bit with leak rate, but im still struggling with these events, and still find myself fatigued during the day. Any suggestions on setting changes to help me improve?

Thanks

You should include the pressure curve on your chart. See Wikipedia for how to organize it.
Until then, I suggest using EPR = 3 full-time, no ramp, and an increased humidity setting. Try to lean side sleeping with a proper CPAP pillow because of your FF mask.

attached is a different screenshot, is that what you are referring to?

With your settings you are not using EPR at all. You have it set for ramp only.

I would suggest the following settings.

Min 10 max 20 EPR FILL TIME. EPR 3

I made these adjustments, thanks for the assistance.

Keep your EPR on 2 but set it to fulltime as the other poster noted, but lower your max pressure to 14.4cm (this will prevent runaway pressure and blowouts)-a narrower band of pressure is almost always more efficacious than being set wide open (20cm).
