CONTEC CMS50F - Moabyte - 07-27-2024

I couldn't find the answer with a search so I'll ask it.  Haven't used my CMS50F for several years.  It seems to still work in every respect except my Windows PC will not recognize it through a USB cable.  I seem to remember it was not your normal USB cable that came with it and I don't seem to have the original USB cable.  Do I need a special USB cable or is my oximeter just not working?  If I do need such a cable any idea where I might find such a cable?

Your oximeter is just old enough that it can be either the older one that requires the USB/HID cable (the one with the chip) or it could be the new standard USB-A to USB-C. If I remember correctly, the older small plug resembled a trapezoid in shape and can only be plugged-in in one orientation. The newer USB-C's shape is symmetrical, so it can be plugged in either way you hold it. An internet search returned several sources selling these cables. Generally, all were less than $10 USD.

Good luck!
