Evora Full Face - ejbpesca - 08-01-2024

I have been using the Fisher Paykel Evora Full Face mask since 2/1/24 with my AirSense 10 machine.  Here are some things I found using the mask:

1. It is a hybrid mask that fits under the nose and covers the mouth.  (does not irritate top of nose)

2. The cushion is more comfortable than a ResMed AirFit F20.

3.  Large Leaks are down 90% as compared to F20.

4. No mask setting is given by Fisher Paykel and none is offered when contacted. (nasal/pillows/full face)

5.  I am continuously sensing that the nostril opening is not aligned properly.  This is irritating but tolerable.

6. Works well for side sleeping.

7. The headgear is more irritating than the F20.  (top strap catches and pulls hair)

8. AHI is down and finally after 17 years of CPAP.  I'm getting <2.00 scores consistently (got my first 0.00)

9. Inhaling through the nose with the Evora FF feels as if the CPAP machine is off when the AirSense 10 is set to Pillows.  I have been flip-flopping between full face and pillows mask settings.  I guess whichever is most comfortable will be the final choice.

10. Exhaling through the nose is met with uncomfortable but tolerable resistance (I may up the EPR to 3)

11. Like all my other FF masks it goes into large leaks when my jaw drops during sleep.

12. It seals well and keeps the seal even against a beard. (until jaw drops)

13. The difference in cushion sizes is the nostril port only, not the whole cushion.  I'm still not sure which size I should be using.

14. The vent flow specification for the Evora FF is the same as the ResMed F40 so I set the AirSense 10 to Pillows as prescribed for the F40.  This changes how breathing in the mask feels.  I'm not sure if the Pillows setting delivers better therapy.

The Evora Full Face is an improvement for me over the ResMed F10 and F20.  Way fewer large leaks, no top of nose irritation, and better AHIs are worth the irritation from the headgear and nostrils port.  The mask continues to feel as if the nostril port is not aligned to my nose causing nightly fidgeting to reposition the mask.   I will try the F40 next.

Great info on the mask. Thanks. Look forward to using one myself soon.

I alternate between the Evora Full and a ResMed N20 (with Knightsbridge Dual Band cap while using the ResMed.

I like the F&P mask. I've recently tried "Pillows" as the setting. It seems to work better for me.

I can go 4 or 5 days with the F&P and on the fifth my numbers go to heck.

I am flip flopping between FF and pillows setting now with an F40 Resmed.  Sleep HQ says to use FF setting even though pillows is the manual's setting.  I'm getting overwhelmed by conflicting information on everything CPAP.

RE: Evora Full Face - Big Guy - 10-03-2024

I recently acquired a ResMed AirFit F40. I already had an F20 and an F30. Of the three, the F30 still serves me the best.  Cool
