Help optimizing CPAP settings - mluck94 - 08-03-2024 Hello, Looking for some help with tweaking my therapy settings. I have been on CPAP since the start of April after a diagnosis of severe OSA. My AHI from my sleep study was 42.6. Over time I have seen my numbers improve but I am still feeling a bit tired most days. I have an older thread posted here from when I first started which shows a pretty big decrease in AHI from back then until now but looking to see if there are any adjustments I could make to my settings to see if there are improvements on my tiredness? My therapy started at a range of 5 - 16 cmH2O with EPR of 3. I began making small tweaks to my settings over the past few weeks and I am currently at 6 - 16 with EPR turned off which did further improve my numbers a bit more. If needed I can provide some more charts from prior to making those settings changes but for now here are some charts from the past 3 nights. I appreciate any help, thanks! Szabo - 08-03-2024 I suggest increasing the minimum pressure to 11, while not changing the rest of the parameters. Which figure improved when you turned EPR off? RE: Help optimizing CPAP settings - mluck94 - 08-03-2024 Thanks, I will give that a try! Also from what I was able to tell from the averages over time, my CAs reduced after turning off EPR. I have not noticed any reduced comfort after making this change either. For comparison, below are three days of prior to turning off EPR. [attachment=67855] [attachment=67856] [attachment=67857] RE: Help optimizing CPAP settings - G. Szabo - 08-03-2024 I see that your CAs improved a bit. Nevertheless, EPR helps you tolerate higher pressure better. So it would be best to consider setting it to 1, gradually increasing it, and observing your CAs and feelings. But now, see the effect of the pressure increase alone, and then you can adjust your EPR later. RE: Help optimizing CPAP settings - CPAPfriend - 08-03-2024 Your pressure looks too low. We can't rely on the APAP algorithms, unfortunately. If you can tolerate it, start incrementing up the pressure. RE: Help optimizing CPAP settings - mluck94 - 08-10-2024 Thanks! I've been using min pressure set to 11 each day this week and my results look pretty good I think. Comfort wise it was just "okay" so last night I changed to 12 with EPR of 1 and that felt more comfortable. Here are my latest numbers: [attachment=68120] |
