Thank you for your help! - Villui - 08-10-2024

I've been offline for awhile.  To my surprise my apnea issues disappeared.  Months ago, after repeat testing my pomologist said I cured myself via weight loss.  I've been meaning to get back to the folks on this site to thank everyone for the guidance I received and the knowledge that I gained while going through the period of apnea.  I hope the issue doesn't return but I have my Resmed aircurve 10 boxed up and this website just in case.  I'll get tested again in a year to make sure things are tracking.
Again my deepest thanks to all.
Vilma

Congratulations!  It's rare that weight loss is enough to cure one from apnea, but you are one of the blessed few.  Good for you!  Smile

Congratulations. Wonderful news.

I am curious...

While you might be "symptom-free," how do they check and conclude that the underlying issue has been resolved? It makes sense that weight loss can reduce neck size and mitigate airway compression and OSA, but what about the other potential and silent issues like pulmonary hypertension?

BTW: A pomologist studies fruits and their cultivation. Did you mean polysomnographer?

Or pulmonologist. At a first glance I read porn-ologist.

Hello:  Yes, I’ve been checked out by both specialists along with follow up inpatient and out patient sleep studies.  I also got a second opinion.  Thank God for great health insurance!

Forgot to mention I had a typo in my initial post. It’s pulmonologists.
