Starting Pressures - Advice? - mark.apnea - 08-15-2024 I had my Airsense 10 replaced with the 11 a month or so ago (due to changing over to Medicare). My 95% pressure was typically in 8.5 to 9.5 range, using a rule of thumb: Min = -3, Max = +3, thus had my pressure settings: 6.0 - 12.0. My current Airsense 11 setting is the default: 5 - 20. Is it reasonable to also change to: 6.0 - 12.0? Lastly, I have EPR set to 3. Most of my events are CAs. Would I do better lowering this value? I have not experimented with this setting, what's the tradeoff lowering the EPR value? Thanks! RE: Starting Pressures - Advice? - Narcil - 08-15-2024 yes totally reasonable to set your own range instead of the default. 6-12 is fine but to take maximum advantage of EPR 3 you'd want 7-12. EPR when set to 3 substracts 3cm of pressure on exhale and can't go under 4cm. so epr 3 you want a min of at least 7cm, epr 2 at least min 6cm,.. +2/-2 is also good in my eyes, so 7-11 would be ok too. can experiment a bit. epr lowers exhalation pressure to make it easier to exhale, it increases comfort reduces flow limits but can also cause CAs. if you don't have too many FLs you could try to lower it a bit.
