Software Upgrade AirSense to AirCurve - Dodies - 08-16-2024 Hi, is it possible to do a software only upgrade from Airsense to Aircurve? My understanding is its the same hardware, just different firmware. So is it possible to buy the firmware? (or do I have this wong and the hardware is different?) RE: Software Upgrade AirSense to AirCurve - Crimson Nape - 08-16-2024 You are correct, the firmware is the only difference. However, you are faced with (at least) two problems. First, Resmed does not sell the firmware. Second, obtaining the special wiring connections to talk to the CPAP. It would probably be cheaper to buy a slightly used AirCurve. - Red RE: Software Upgrade AirSense to AirCurve - Dodies - 08-17-2024 Thanks. I did wonder. Seems a shame that Resmed dont offer software upgrades only. RE: Software Upgrade AirSense to AirCurve - SarcasticDave94 - 08-17-2024 Better for them to sell the machine. 10 were out, now sell 11. Just like cars. That series was out but not there's a new version. Selling the new one equals more money to the company. RE: Software Upgrade AirSense to AirCurve - iitgsleep - 08-20-2024 If you google airbreak, you'll see a project from 2020 where they did this. I don't know whether it's still possible these days or if resmed have somehow closed off the loophole that allowed the firmware to be patched. I've been thinking about trying it myself because there's no second hand units for sale. Well, there is one but it's only marginally less expensive than the discounted price I would get through my private health insurance. Someone also told me there's old Resmed VAUTO firmware floating around the internet that could also be used but I haven't come across it. RE: Software Upgrade AirSense to AirCurve - SarcasticDave94 - 08-20-2024 We've seen a few that still do get AirBreak to work. It's not a fully working device as in it's not a replacement for the other machine. Example, ASV could be run off an AutoSet. But it doesn't act and respond the same as the real deal. |
