Löwenstein prismaSMART and OSCAR? - since1984 - 08-21-2024

Hi,

I´ve heard that prismaSMART is not that compatible to OSCAR. How well is the Löwenstein prismaSMART device supported by OSCAR?

TIA

Hans from the south of Germany

Lowenstein PrismaSMART machines are reasonably well supported in the latest version of OSCAR. I've been importing data from my PrismaSMART Max for close to a year without any problems. Any support issues are more down the limited experience of forum members with Lowenstein machines, as they are generally not sold in the US.

But otherwise, all the data you would likely need is adequately reported. Lowenstein do two machine ranges the PrismaSMART (basic CPAP and APAP) and the more advanced PrismaLINE range (APAP, Bi / Tri level machines and above).

Have a read of the Apnea Board / OSCAR Wiki pages for Lowenstein Machines to get a feel for what they do and how to optimise them -

A search for 'Lowenstein' in the Apnea Board forum will bring up a few threads which will give you some idea of folks experience with them.

I used a prisma smart lowenstein. I confirm that it is perfectly compatible with Oscar. You will find a lot of plots in this forum with this machine + this software  Smile

Just don't forget to move the tiny little notch of the SD card before inserting it into the appropriate port of the computer to unlock the SD card. Otherwise the PC may not be able to detect the card and the data transfer will not work.
