Can a Cpap 'hose' be cleaned by tool that is advertised to clean a standard un-heated tube, be used on a smaller diameter heated tube? The cleaning bristles are soft and pliable, so that should not be a real problem, but they show the tube in a sink somewhat submerged in soapy water when the tool is being used. Not sure if the heated tube would like being submerged in water. Enlighten Please?

The heated tube can handle massive water condensation, so it is water-protected. I am not sure about its end when there is an electrical connection. You might need to keep that part out of the water.

With my heated hose all I do is put a few drops of Dawn dish liquid in it and then holding it in a 'U' shape fill it with warmish/hot water from the faucet. I then slosh it back and forth a few times followed by a cold water rinse from the faucet. Hang to dry for the day. Smells nice and fresh at the next use. I suppose if bacteria is suspected a solution of vinegar might be used followed by a Dawn/water rinse.
I've seen a few posts that a brush was used on a heated hose and the coil in the hose didn't function after. The brush may have been the cause or not, but heated hoses aren't cheap if using a brush may be questionable.

My prior 10 series ASV heated hose was immersed a few times for cleaning. Then I wanted more coffee time and decided quick rinse running water through it only would be fine. After 2 years, I'd only used 2 heated hoses.

I've completely submerged the ResMed Climateline hose while cleaning it. I let it soak in water for a good 20 min. or so, before removing and rinsing it.
The IMPORTANT part is to make sure that you hang it up and let it air dry for several hours. I'd clean mine in the morning and let it hang all day until later that night. I used a brush from time to time w/o any issues.

Excellent info and advise ... We've been Using the AS10, since the day when we learned of the Philips recall....Still have the original heated hose that came with it, and it is working just fine. She does clean it at least once a week, in the 'sloshing' manner, but when we saw the ad for the cleaning brush, thought it to be a good idea, if it would not damage the hose. I think we'll give it a try...
