Humidifier Issue - Vako - 08-29-2024

I'm having major issues with rain showers, I'm using the bleep I have the humidifier chamber at 6 and the tube at 82° and when I lift the tube it starts gurgling, when I take it off my nose it's like if I have a water hose on my hand. Isn't those temp high enough to evaporated the darn water? I don't get it, I seriously need vapor in there because my nose cracks of dryness.

My room is at 62° , I have also a tube liner so it doesn't get cold but as soon as I go past 4 on humidifier hurricane Katrina comes, any clues? Can't find what else to do ?

Hi Vako, the basic steps to prevent rainout are to first move the machine lower than your sleeping position, then to either rig up or purchase a hose hanger so that the hose goes up above your head then down to your mask, this will prevent nearly all issues with rainout issues regardless of how high you have your humidity set. Smile

I have it setup like that, still the gurgling is there and as soon as I take mask off is like a garden hose. That setup ain't enough

That's strange, I've used that machine and cranked the humidity, have you tried a different humidifier water chamber in it and made sure it's seated correctly?

It's set in properly or it wouldn't get empty well refilled by Cspring. Is as soon as I put it over 4

The only thing I can suggest is set Your climite line temperature up some more ..
Have You tried auto for the humidity ?? Does the humidity need to be 6 have You
tried 5 or 4 .. More isn't always better enough humidity to be comfortable is good ..
More then that is counter productive as Your finding out ..

Down load OSCAR its free ..  Posting OSCAR charts could help ..

Good luck

What is Oscar going to tell me to help with humidity? Nothing, it ain't for that.

Anyhow, highest it goes is 86° and the hottest the tube can contain rainout is putting it at 86° and 5 in humidifier, if you go up to 6 you will need north of 92° and that's impossible even with the sleeve it has with a room at 61°. Can't sleep if room ain't cold

It's going to be very heavy I can see to find a way to do so

I can't be lower than 5 1/2 or 6 and up, I get severe dry mouth, like my mouth is shut close with cement and 3 padlocks,  ?. And my nose gets dry as desert. Need lots of vapor for that ?

Your room is cold, you add humidity to the CPAP air, it's more probable to cause rainout enough so that the hottest setting in the heated hose can't help.

There's hose holders to facilitate keeping an angle to the hose travel, so that condensation drains back to the machine instead of the hose.

Hose covers to insulate.

It's possible other masks vent condensation better.

There's probably not much else.

That's what I thought so.

I can't sleep in a hot room so temp can't be higher than 65° . Tube temp max is 86° for humidity 6 you need at least 92° I guess lvl 5 it is ??
