Increased AHI after starting CPAP - legoland123 - 09-09-2024 Hi folks. I did in-lab sleep study and my AHI was 1.0. However doc recommended CPAP because my RERAs were high. Around 22 RERA events/hour. After starting CPAP last week, I am seeing hardly any RERAs on my Resmed. But instead my AHI is higher than sleep study and it keeps fluctuating. Day 1 AHI: 14.2 Day 2 AHI: 7.2 Day 3 AHI: 1.8 Day 4: AHI 4.5 (attached screenshot) Most of these are Central AI. Any recommendation on how to fix? I am also getting a lot of bloating after starting CPAP. On Day 2 I felt really good in the morning after CPAP. But I am back to feeling not so great again in the morning. RE: Increased AHI after starting CPAP - legoland123 - 09-09-2024 I realized my screenshot was not up to the mark so I am adding another one to solicit a response :-) RE: Increased AHI after starting CPAP - Jay51 - 09-09-2024 Hopefully your CA's are treatment emergent: they can go away in a few weeks or so as your body adapts to pap therapy. You have EPR at 3 full time. EPR is great to reduce flow limitations. Your 95th percentile was 0.07 That is not bad. If you reduce EPR to 2, or 1, or even turn it off, your CA's should diminish. But the better plan would probably be to keep using it with the same settings right now and hopefully you will adapt to it soon. |
