new to cpap therapy,. not having any success yet. - sjlulz - 09-15-2024 it took me four years to get a sleep study,. and now that I finally have a cpap machine,. I have not noticed any difference whatsoever. also my resmed airsense10 autoset says my mask fit is bad, and no matter what I do I can't get it to say I have a good fit. I am concerned that this is why I am not feeling better. I also suffer from bipolar disorder, currently experiencing a bad depressive episode making this all the more difficult. I am overwhelmed and could really use some advice. RE: new to cpap therapy,. not having any success yet. - Deborah K. - 09-15-2024 I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling any better yet. It can take a while. As to your mask leaks, many times folks using a full-face mask tighten it too much which can cause rather than prevent leaks. The key is to put it gently against your skin. Then the air flows in and fills the mask and presses it a little against your face. Some find that they do better with a different mask or a different type of mask. Full-face masks tend to leak the most, nasal masks less, and nasal pillows masks the least. We could offer much more help if you downloaded Oscar, our free apnea reporting program, and then posted charts that tell us a great deal about every night's sleep. On the top of each page, in the black section, you will find a link to Oscar telling you how to download and use it. If you don't understand the instructions, ask for help and someone will coach you until you get it right. I'm praying that you will soon achieve your very best therapy and comfort and that your depression will be relieved. RE: new to cpap therapy,. not having any success yet. - Big Guy - 09-15-2024 I started out using an AirFir F20. I did okay with it. I also used that mask when I took my two night in-lab sleep study. I then went to an AirFit F30 and it was a night & day difference. So far, I have an F20, F30 and an F40 on hand. Of the three, the F30 serves me the best. And, it's gonna take some time, probably much longer than what'd you like, to come to realize a difference in how you feel. It took me about a full year before I was somewhat convinced that CPAP Therapy was working. Focus on the mask issue and then be patient with the therapy. RE: new to cpap therapy,. not having any success yet. - SarcasticDave94 - 09-15-2024 Agreed that we'll need to see your sleep data through OSCAR. It's always a free download, and it's safe to use. You want to know what your therapy is doing. |
