SP02 blood oxygen drops - spo2 - 10-06-2024

[attachment=70453][attachment=70453]Hi,

I've been on cpap for the last 10 years  . I was on the Remstar Cflex then switched to the resmed10 which I felt didn't give more pressure but my stomach bloating ceased.

The cpap or apap was a success - I was waking up feeling alert. I wasn't feeling drowsy during the day. Fantastic until recently.

I suffer mainly from Clear Airway (Central Apnea?)

I hardly move in bed and I prefer to sleep on my back. I try to sleep on my side but I invariably naturally move to be on my back.

My Resmed 10 settings were set at 10.2 and max 15 for nearly a year with a AHI rating of 3. EPR 1.

Recently, in the last 60 days I noticed my arms were feeling tingly and my sp02 blood oxygen levels, according to my Wellvue consistently drop off dramatically and consistently to 84% to 73% when I'm having deep sleep. I'm alarmed. Previously, my sp02 reading had drops but it wasn't so bad and I often get perfect scores at 95  - 98 at night.

I am making arrangements to see a new sleep specialist specialising in Central Apnea - my previous doctor retired. I plan to see Dr Marcus McMahon at Ephworth Richmond.

In the meantime,  waiting for my appointment, would it help if I increased my Resmed pressure setting?

I suffer from Central Apnea. Has anyone else experienced this and found a way to overcome it.

Welcome to the board.  We really can not tell much with the data you show.  We use OSCAR (it is totally free at the top of the site).  From the last graphs it looks like you are using it...  Put up a daily screenshot from OSCAR with the graphs I have listed in a link in my signature and we can be much more help.

Hello there,

this is one from 3rd October 2024. AHI 2.37 - Leak Leak 20.87%, Clear Airway 1.28, OA 0.36, Unclassified 0.55, Hypopnea 0.18

My pressure is 10.04 , 12.02, 12.48
EPAP is 9.04, 11.02, 11.48

Leak was 0, 8.40, 39.6 and 69.60

total time in apnea 2 mins 34 seconds

But my Spo2 reading dropped as low as 79%, time under 90% was 9 minutes 16 seconds. Drop/ hour - 7.5

We need a full daily shot of Oscar showing the charts I listed in my signature.

RE: SP02 blood oxygen drops - spo2 - 10-06-2024

I'm sorry, but I can't see any charts in your signature.

RE: SP02 blood oxygen drops - spo2 - 10-06-2024

[attachment=70499][attachment=70501][attachment=70502]Hi I attach the daily OSCAR chart. Would appreciate if you can look through it and find some way to help me improve.

I tend to sleep on my back. I tried sleeping on my side but my arms get a nerve pinch. And I rotate my shoulders inward which I find not good.

My AHI is ok but my sleep o2 is dipping to 74 to 84% every night and usually when I am in deep sleep at 3am - 5am.

To start the charts in my signature is the “organizing charts”, those are the most important and if we need to see others they will ask to see specific ones.

You need to take off the calendar and pie chart from the left column, there is a lot of info lower in the column. You get rid of those in View at the top.

You have a lot of large leaks “the shaded areas”.

Your oxygen is a problem that the large leaks could be part of the reason. Any time your oxygen drops below 88% for any amount of time needs to be addressed. I have to have an oxygen concentrator hooked up to my Cpap and if you oxygen levels stay low you need to bring it up with your Dr. it can be your family Dr he can give you a Rx for it.
