Lowenstein Prisma 20A problem connecting with the humidifier - Pushe - 10-08-2024

Hi,

I own a Lowenstein Prisma 20A for two years now, but I've been using it regularly for 6 months.

I have the following problem: When I refill the humidifier (prisma AQUA) and attach it to the CPAP machine, the humidifier indicator (the water drop icons) won't show. When I push the machine and the humidifier to each other, the indicator appears. When I put them on the shelf, the indicator disappears. The only solution for me right now is to put them near a wall so that both parts are pushed tightly to one another.

Does anybody know what the problem is? Is there any part that needs to be cleaned to remove it?

Please advise. Thanks

The humidifier comprises only 4 parts - Water Tray - Heating Rod - Top Plastic Housing - Internal Rubber/Silicone moulding

It may be that the Rubber/Silicone moulding is not properly seated in the Top Plastic Housing. It can easily get pinched, so check that the two silicone vents are properly located into Top Plastic Housing (just wiggle the vents about) ...and that the corresponding seals on the machine itself are not damaged.

Striping the humidifier into its four component parts, cleaning them and reassembling them might be sufficient to fix the problem (no tools required) - it might just be due to a build-up of hard water deposits.

Otherwise there maybe a problem with the mechanical 'ejector' switch. Worth giving your machine supplier or the local Lowenstein office a call for advice if the above does not remedy it..
