Rainout pissing me off - Vako - 10-14-2024

This rainout issue is pissing me off, I've tried everything to prevent it but it has been useless. I have a hybernite hose which is supposed to be more powerful that the Resmed heated tube at preserving heat inside the tube, I have a pad-a-cheeck hose cover which is the thickest out there and still there's no match for this stupid rainout. As soon as I put it above 5, it starts spraying my face and doing all the gurgling sound. Yes I sleep with a 60° temp in my room but the darn heated tube plus cover should be more than enough but nope. I know setting the machine below is an option but nope, still water goes up ?. I need it above 5 because I have serious dry mouth naturally and because of the gazillion meds I take.

Have anyone hide master this monster of rainout at a level above 5 that causes enough moisture? I'm thinking of buying 6 electrical thermal pads wrap it around the house and turn them on to see if it gets warm enough that I can prevent that freaking rainout ??

You would probably benefit from using a hose holder.  These cause your hose to be lifted above your head and completely stop rainout.  Amazon sells lots of them.  I'm sure you could find one you like if you searched.  I bought a cheap one that works perfectly.  Here's a link:

Wow!  All you said plus a hose lifter!  If dry mouth is the main issue, you could probably lower your humidity and use Xylimelts.  These are flavored discs that you stick to part of a tooth and your gum.  They relieve dry mouth very well.  I think they are worth trying, especially because you are having so much trouble.  Good luck!  Smile

Hello Vako, move the machine as close to the floor as possible please, I don't see that you've done that. The water will siphon if it's not as low as possible and the hose hanger holding it as high as possible:

I never had a problem with rain out but I turned off my humidifier more than 3 years ago and I live in a simi arid area.  You might just try it one night without and see if you need it.

I have severe dry mouth. I have diabetes insipid is ( not same as diabetes mielitis) and a bunch of medications that cause dry mouth. I NEED moisture, it's not an if it's a must ??

I have had a really dry mouth for years due to medications and then chemotherapy made it worse.  I had rainout when I increased my humidity from 4 to 5. I set the hose heat to 84 and it has been working very well.
