Pressure change going from a Nasal cradle to pillow mask - jdougc - 11-04-2024 I need some advice please. I am changing to the ResMed P10 nasal pillow cushion from the ResMed N30 nasal cradle cushion. I have received some god tips about using lanoline to help my nose not be irritated so much. But I forgot to ask if I should lower my pressure a little bit since the air might be better directed into my nose. I use constant pressure of 10.2 on a ResMed AirSense 11 in the cpap mode. Should I try 10 or 9.8, not making a huge change obviously? I use a 5" long piece of Kinesiology tape, 4 inches wide, and a chin strap also. I just got the Caldera soft neck cushion, but it is a bit small. Even with using the last little bit of velcro, there is too much pressure on my neck. I woke up mumbling with a sore adam's apple. Hopefully some velcro extension will help. Thanks for any help in the pressure settings. My breathing was better even though the neck collar was too tight. I took it off after waking up and had a bit more leaks. [attachment=71541] RE: Pressure change going from a Nasal cradle to pillow mask - G. Szabo - 11-04-2024 When there is a leak, the instrument maintains the pressure by increasing the flow. You should not alter the pressure setting unless you had some enormous leaks before that compromised your treatment. Looking at your chart, there were some instances when the leak was over the limit, but the average was acceptable. I do not suggest altering the pressure because of the mask changes. I am concerned about the extremely tight collar you use, which is restricting blood flow in your neck. You should not use this collar further. |
