OSCAR Question (CA vs OA) while AWAKE - ineedsomesleep - 11-08-2024 So I know if you're still awake while using a CPAP, you can get false positives for CA (clear airway) events because a CPAP machine doesn't know when you're sleeping or not... but is it possible for there to be false positive OA (obstructive apnea) events while you're awake? RE: OSCAR Question (CA vs OA) while AWAKE - SeePak - 11-09-2024 I have had this experience, trying my CPAP while awake in the afternoon. I had a whole bunch of OA events while awake. Threw me off when i saw that, cause now i am not sure of these results thru the night !? But i'm sure someone here with more experience has an explanation..... RE: OSCAR Question (CA vs OA) while AWAKE - PeaceLoveAndPizza - 11-09-2024 Anything is possible wearing a CPAP whilst awake. Until you are asleep just ignore anything that shows up. When you use OSCAR you can select the sleep region of the flow rate graph and get your numbers calculated for that time ignoring the awake time events. RE: OSCAR Question (CA vs OA) while AWAKE - SeePak - 11-09-2024 hey pizza, thanx for that! gonna try it right now.... update: ok tried it, gives you the AHI for the highlighted section, correct? |
