Going from Dreamstation to ResMed 11... I don't want to lose any data - jimcaffey - 11-21-2024

Hi folks,

I am switching from my Philips Dreamstation to a Resmed 11. My concern has to do with preserving my usage data. If I take the data card from the Resmed and load it into Oscar will Oscar automatically amend the saved data from the dreamstation with the new data from the ResMed?

Secondly, the new Resmed has a cell phone modem to report back to the mothership but didn't come with a memory chip. If I insert a mini chip will it effect the data transfer from the Modem or just act as a backup?

thanks for your help.

Jim

I am not familiar with the data handling when changing machines and the SD data. At the least, I'd do full SD card backup to a PC file for safe keeping before doing anything.

On the ResMed data modem and using an SD card. You can do both safely. And this is dependent on that mobile connection actually working. Some ResMed had used older cell tech and might not even work anymore.

My Dreamstation never gave me much data, but the DME never complained when I took the card in for a compliance checks in 2018, 2019. I just got a new SD card from Amazon for my ResMed AirSense 11 and started using Oscar right away.
I didn't want to take a chance on corruption of the data for the new machine, since SD cards don't last forever, I have heard maybe 10-12 years, but you can get a card lasting longer.
Good luck with the new machine!

I have a DreamStation 2 and a Resmed AS10 Auto. Each machine has it's own SD card and for OSCAR each machine has it's own profile. Having a profile for each machine I think takes the risk out of having data get corrupted and it's easy to switch between the two profiles. I think I saw having separate profiles was recommended either on this forum or the other.

Yes, that should have been something I would have included. Since SD cards are rather inexpensive, consider using a new one on the new machine.
