"Alcohol is not necessarily safe for any electric motor." Although he said "risky", Adventures with CPAP sopped an electric motor in propan-2-ol. Then he ran the motor for an hour successfully. But is this safe to dunk?

I wouldn't do it. The alcohol might strip away the motor lubricant.
