New User - Some Success but need a little help - reifer - 12-04-2024 Good Morning, I have been a user for six days. The first couple have been rough but I now have a new problem. I go to bed at 9pm....using ramp from 6 thru 15 I get to about an 11 setting after ramp up. I am waking up at 1am feeling completely refreshed....ready to go. I can't seem to fall back asleep after this initial wake up. I can't seem to tolerate the ramp up and the mask the second time...feels like I'm suffocating. The mask then comes off because the second time is really rough....the initial use and application is easy. I either can't fall back asleep at all...or I do and feel rough on the second wake up because I'm not using the mask at this point. I just wish the first wakeup experience was at 5am...not 1am. Any tips or tricks I can try? Thanks in advance. RE: New User - Some Success but need a little help - staceyburke - 12-04-2024 If you can put up your OSCAR graphs it would be very helpful. OSCAR is a completely free program we use to help, download from the top of the page. We always suggest that the ramp is turned off. That would help you get back to sleep. RE: New User - Some Success but need a little help - reifer - 12-04-2024 Great...thanks. I'll figure out this Oscar thing when I have a few minutes. Are you recommending that the ramp up is always off? Or just turn it off after I wake up and am trying to go back to sleep? In other words...reset the machine settings at 1am? And then before going to bed the next night back to the ramp up settings? RE: New User - Some Success but need a little help - Deborah K. - 12-04-2024 You get almost no therapy with ramp, and obviously feel air-starved. Plus every time you remove your mask and then return it, ramp starts up again. I suggest you turn it off and see how you do. I think you probably don't need it. Welcome, and best of luck with your new therapy! |
