Airfit F20 Mask question - vmarshmellow - 12-06-2024 Hi! I have been having problems with my nose pillows. A friend sent me an unused Airfit f20 facemask with silicon pillow and elbow joint and I ordered the head strap. My climateline air fits the elbow and I can put the mask on and it feels good. I know how to get into the clinical menu and adjust the settings on my Resmed AirSense 10 for her. I of course set my machine to "facemask". When I put on the facemask without attaching the climateline i can of course breath through the mask because the elbow hole isn't blocked. But when i put my hand over the elbow hole I can still breath through the mask fine because the mask needs to vent. However when i turn the machine on all venting stops. So the mask gets super pressurized even on the 4 setting and their is not exhaled air escape. Does this make sense? I don't know if something is wrong with the elbow? or if i have a setting wrong? You can't hear me breath just the roar of the air. if I don't pull the mask super hard to my face of course air wll start leaking out of the silicone seal because it has to vent somewhere. I am not unfamiliar with facemasks just this one and I cannot figure out what is wrong. I have looked at pictures online and it looks like the correct elbow? Thank you for any help/advice you can offer. Valerie RE: Airfit F20 Mask question - SarcasticDave94 - 12-06-2024 Sounds like maybe something might be stuck closed. It shouldn't but that's what it sounds like. Do you have a different elbow to swap in? RE: Airfit F20 Mask question - vmarshmellow - 12-06-2024 Thank you for your reply! I was thinking the same and took the elbow off and just breathed through it. the flaps work. I must have a setting wrong in the machine. Even with the pressure set on 4 it feels like 15! I've found this before when I used the wrong setting between nose pillows and full face mask but i have it on face mask. I'm baffled. RE: Airfit F20 Mask question - vmarshmellow - 12-06-2024 I think I might have solved my problem. But I do not understand. The facemask and elbow seem to work when I use the "nasal" setting. Per research that is the setting for a nasal mask. This mask covers my mouth and nose and allows me to breath through either. I do not know why I would not need to choose "face mask"? But the pressure is impossibly crazy when I choose face mask. I woke up with a headache today and now it's back after messing with the CPAP for over an hour. Ugh. RE: Airfit F20 Mask question - Big Guy - 12-06-2024 I've used an F20 in the past. I still have it, as well as an F30 and and F40. I have the same CPAP machine as you do. When I was using it, machine was set to full face mask. I know that I have played around with different settings and such, and nothing changed how the mask performed. |
