Soft Cervical Collars - jimbobule - 12-15-2024

I've got my AHI regularly down to 2.5.in a couple of weeks  after being diagnosed with mild to moderate apnea and starting cpap. The effect is dramatic and positive on my health so far, as I was suffering daily with cardiac stress / palpitations / tachycardia which is diminishing.

But overall my story seems to be one about 'positional apnea'?

I notice while sitting relaxed that when tucking my chin my upper mouth flesh seems to easily collapse into my airway (this is the recommended simple test).

I am very compliant with the cpap treatment so gathered alot of data and interpreted via various software including Oscar.

I tried 5 x collars including the recommended Caldera and Velpeau brands but have  had most success with the Velpeau dual use collar. It's comfortable (rounded edge), long enough, tall enough and firm enough with no downsides. It also came in an XL size and is relatively cheap.

The Caldera collar seemed too soft and not firm enough to keep my chin raised, also was too small.

Upvote for Valepeau Dual Use Collar.
