Consistently waking up too early + hot and sweaty, need some help - Yeliad - 12-18-2024 [attachment=73143] On this night I'm not sure particularly when I woke up, anywhere in the reigon of 6-7:30. I tried to keep the mask on for a while but gave up after a while. [attachment=73144] This one I remember taking off my mask soon after waking up to mark the time, which you can see at around 5:15. I fell back into a light sleep afterwards and felt incredibly groggy and bad in the morning. Both nights were certainly better than without any treatment, but I still feel more like 30% instead of 100% rested. I'm not sure what is causing this but I always wake up 4-5 hours into CPAP use very hot and sweaty, which quickly goes away after I wake. This has not gone away with time. I've already tried changing pressures/masks/humidity/EPAP/chin strap use, so not sure what is causing this. Wondering if there is anything in the charts that indicates why I am waking up early. Szabo - 12-18-2024 Would you mind uploading a few 3-minute wide windows of your flow rate before 5:15 within the oscillating tidal volume range? RE: Consistently waking up too early + hot and sweaty, need some help - Yeliad - 12-18-2024 [attachment=73146] [attachment=73147] [attachment=73148] RE: Consistently waking up too early + hot and sweaty, need some help - G. Szabo - 12-18-2024 Judging from the chopped pears, you have flow limitations during inhalation. You should switch to the APAP regime and set the minimum pressure to 7.4 cm and the maximum to 10 cm. You probably also have nasal congestion, which explains the diminishing peak heights. The device cannot recognize this latter phenomenon, so it does not increase the pressure. If the pressure increase cannot resolve this issue, you should work on your congestion. For instance, my congestion can be mitigated by high humidity; hence, I use a maximum humidity setting along with a maximum hose temperature to prevent condensation. Others need low moisture. There are also saline nose cleaning solutions, sprays for congestion, and plastic nasal inserts to expand your nose. I can give you some more specifics about these if you need them. RE: Consistently waking up too early + hot and sweaty, need some help - Yeliad - 12-18-2024 I usually have run APAP for the past year or so and have this issue, only did constant on that one night. I do have nasal congestion, there's another post on my profile detailing all the things I tried (its a lot so i can't remember them all). Humidity sadly doesn't seem to do anything for me. Will try increasing the pressure tho, ty. RE: Consistently waking up too early + hot and sweaty, need some help - G. Szabo - 12-18-2024 If nasal congestion causes it, switching to an FF mask resolves it. RE: Consistently waking up too early + hot and sweaty, need some help - Yeliad - 12-19-2024 Yeah, I have only used FF masks over the past year though. So not quite sure why my flow chart would look like that. |
