F40 seems to be cutting my face - UKFan643 - 12-27-2024

I’m trying to give the F40 a second try, and after 4 nights this spot keeps getting worse. I REALLY want this mask to work as the F20 really bothers my nose bridge. However, if I can’t figure out how to prevent this, it’s not going to work. Any ideas? I’ve tried putting some Vaseline on it before I put it on, but that hasn’t helped.

For now, try using some Lanisoh nipple cream on the sore spot. It will help heal it.

I have a similar beard and use the F40 on occasion. What I have found similar to you is if I have it too tight to avoid leaking around the mustache I have to ratchet it down fairly tightly. When I trimmed the mustache a bit most of my issues went away.

The way I found the sweet spot on the F40 setup was to hold it gently against my face and set the straps to hold it there. I then apply pressure to inflate the silicone and gently tighten it until leaks stop. If it hurts under my nose then it is too tight. In general I find keeping the lower straps a bit tight holding it below my lower lip and keeping the upper strap looser for the portion below my nose, seems to work well.

Note that I find the F&P Evora full-face works much better for me than the F40. I find the Evora does not require straps to be as tight to deal with the beard and mustache, and is much more comfortable overall.
