Fatigue and headaches from Sleep apnea? - giants304 - 12-27-2024

Hey everyone, I’d really appreciate any input as this has been very difficult for me.

3 years ago I was diagnosed with Mono and Covid at the same time. Since then I have never felt better and about 10 different doctors have came to a conclusion. I got sent for a sleep study which I’ve attached below.

Does the sleep study look severe enough to cause major fatigue, headaches and brain fog? Or could it be something else, as my nose and sinus is very inflamed.

Thank you in advance!

You have mild apnea, but your oxygen saturation is quite good. I presume they suggested CPAP treatment for you, which can improve your symptoms.

I would say that an Apnea Hypopnea index of 7, and a  Respiratory Disturbance Index RDI of 19.8 could give you sufficient nightime arousals and micro arousals to significantly disturb you sleep.

This environment could mean preventing sufficient REM sleep that acts as a "repairing" period for the rigours of the day.

Your doctor will give you advice on using a CPAP device, and if it is suitable for you.

Thank you, I really appreciate the insight.
I’m only 22 years old so I’ve been a little hesitant on getting a CPAP and be stuck with it for the rest of my life. Just trying to figure if anything else could be the cause first.

Thank you so much for your advice.
Do you think my nasal problems could be causing this?

The way to see if your nasal problems are causing the problem is to see an ENT.
