Small change nice improvement. - super7pilot - 12-28-2024 Decided to up my min pressure to just below my therapeutic level with the EPR at 2. Sure had nice even flow over the night. And I seemed to have fewer disturbances. I went from 9 then10-15 epr 2 to 11-15 epr 2. Might up the humidity from 5 to 6 as I still had a little bit of water in the tank after 8:24 on the mask. Bedroom is at 70F and is normally at 40(ish)% humidity. Despite having some stuffiness the FL's have been remaining at .03 @ 95%. And have been .06-95% since going back on CPAP in Oct. I'm scheduled for a nose procedure in Feb called Vivaer. But as my FL's are not horrible I guess I might have to rethink that. RE: Small change nice improvement. - G. They unfortunately yet understandably tend to be full of the worst case scenario posts. Going on CPAP therapy is daunting, scary and the doctors seem to be of little help. As G S above eluded too. Have you tried the EPR at 2 or 3? I see (at least on your tag) you are not running a humidifier. Could that be a source of problems in sleeping due to a dry schnoz? Two things that were key for me were: 1, just getting used to above atmospheric pressure breathing. It just isn't natural for us. 2, getting the large pressure gap between my min and my therapeutic pressure narrowed. The hardest part was sifting through all the junk on my charts and figuring out if said junk was actually junk or some sort of maladjustment of the settings or just the sometimes long process of adapting to therapy. Turns out for me. All the above applied. And add in the propensity of we humans to make mountains out of mole hills. Which is why patience is required as well as an open mind to listen to folks on the forum and not dismiss what they suggest. 'trust but verify' is a good policy. RE: Small change nice improvement. - ejbpesca - 12-29-2024 After a few years of fiddling with pressures and EPR, trying various masks, and making failed attempts to prevent positional apneas with gadgetry I get no sleep quality improvement but keep trying. If I raise min. pressure to the suggested level I get therapy destroying major leakage no matter what mask or its strap tension. I do like my new mask covers though. So nice to go from plastic to fabric to the skin...that's a recent +. NICE photos! |
