OSCAR data high respiratory rate - amc237 - 01-01-2025

Hi -- I was reviewing my OSCAR data from my CPAP and my respiratory rate is always pretty elevated.  Is this a true measure?  Any ideas what to try next?  Thanks so much for your help!

Do you have any pulmonary issues that you know of? I see that your tidal volume is relatively low. (TV is how much air you move in one breath). If you are a small person, perhaps your TV is normal, so it'd be good to know whether you have a small build. Finally, I notice that your median inspiration and expiration times are relatively short.

I'd like to suggest an experiment that might give us some useful information. Try turning your ramp off, setting your minimum to 7, and setting your EPR to 3.

The next time you post a chart, could you turn off the calendar and include all and only these graphs:

Events
Flow rate
Pressure (not mask pressure)
Leaks
Flow limitations
Respiration rate.

Thanks so much for reading.  I am not a tiny build person and have no other respiratory conditions (that I know of) besides OSA.  I will try your suggestion and post what it looks like.  Smile

I made the changes suggested and here's my charts from last night.  Let me know what you think I should try next Smile

Thanks for posting the charts with the revised settings. One additional ask: could you zoom in on your flow rate during a peaceful-looking part of the night when your RR is at around your median? A snippet of about 2 minutes would be great.

BTW, you can fit all those graphs into one screen shot. Just grab the horizontal gray bars that separate the graphs and push them up a little.
