I'm new, need help - kderevan - 03-19-2014 I have been using my CPAP for just over a week now, and I have so many questions! I am using the Sleepyhead software, and while I understand the AHI rate (kinda) and a few other things, but no clue about a lot of the data it's reporting. Can you point me to somewhere that I can study up on my reports? Thanks. RE: I'm new, need help - trish6hundred - 03-19-2014 Hi kderevan, WELCOME! to the forum.! There is a thread here on this board that deals with how to use SleepyHead. I don't use data-management software, but there are many people on this board that do and someone will help you, soon. Best of luck to you with your CPAP therapy RE: I'm new, need help - kderevan - 03-19-2014 Thank you, now I know where to start! RE: I'm new, need help - PaulaO2 - 03-19-2014 acronyms and abbreviations: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Acronyms SleepyHead users guide: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/sleepyhead/index.php?title=SleepyHead_Users_Guide SleepyHead glossary: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/sleepyhead/index.php?title=Sleep_Disorder_Glossary After that, do a search on the forum for the specific term you are looking for and see if anything comes up. Or start a new thread about it. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-How-to-Doing-a-Forum-Search RE: I'm new, need help - herbm - 03-19-2014 AHI is basically how many "events" you have PER HOUR, over the night. You want that low, and anything under 5 is considered medically treated. (This number is however somewhat arbitrary since the medical researchers had to pick SOME VALUE.) Many of the data charts don't help much, or only help in special situations. For instance, the 'chart' of AHI is nearly worthless since you either care about the AHI for the entire night, or want to SEE the actual event ticks and look at the flow chart in conjunction with them (looking for clusters and bogus events.) You really care most about the Flow, the Leak, the Events (ticks), pressure (for those with an APAP or other automatic) -- also Usage hours for those who are still seeking compliance. Most of the rest are not of day to day importance (but might occasionally be useful.) RE: I'm new, need help - kderevan - 03-19-2014 I know what all those terms are except "flow"--what does that indicate?
