Hi jbtuggers - Can you supply a bit more information? You list that you use ResScan... can you tell us what your AHI is averaging? Any other factors that might be contributing to your problem? What is your leak rate? Is there a reason you're using a full face mask instead of a nasal or nasal pillows system? Are you talking the CPAP off in the middle of the night? What happens when you wake up - is there something that's happening at 2 AM that is causing this? Do you feel rested? Other physical issues? My AHI is 78 I use a full face mask because I breath from my mouth I don't take my mask off and don't feel rested. I don't know the leak rate. No other physical issues I just seem to wake up and can"t go back to sleep. thanks. Did you mean your AHI was 78 or 7.8? 78 is extremely high... if that's correct, I'd be willing to bet that you've got major leaks with your full face mask that is not allowing your CPAP therapy to work, and it's no wonder you don't feel rested. You really need to get into ResScan and check those leak rates. Full face masks are notorious for leaking. Is there any reason why you can't use a nasal mask or nasal pillows system? RE: early wake up - PaulaO2 - 04-20-2012 If your AHI is 78, yeah, no wonder you aren't sleeping! That time of night is a common time to wake up. 2-3am. For some reason, a lot of people wake up at that time and can't go back to sleep. There's actually some new medication just for this. Have you talked to your GP about it? This could be totally separate from CPAP use. RE: early wake up - jbtuggers - 04-20-2012 (04-20-2012, 10:23 AM)PaulaO2 Wrote: If your AHI is 78, yeah, no wonder you aren't sleeping! I have a Dr. appt. on tuesday what is the med. called. thanks RE: early wake up - PaulaO2 - 04-20-2012 Not a clue but the doc should know. So your AHI really is 78?? It's as if you don't have the mask on at all with that! ResMed draw the line at 24 and any above for significant period of time would compromise the therapy and affect the accuracy of the data (AHI) Which S9 are you using? (not all models report leak) Full face mask don't work for me - Every body is different Just because you mouth breathe doesn't mean you can't use a nasal mask , I use nasal mask and chinstrap help keeping mouth closed and stopping therapy air from escaping through the mouth otherwise it render the therapy ineffective. It took me over a year to sleep 6 hours with the machine, your doctor can help but you've to figure the problem first whether its leak, congestion, sleep hygiene, other health issues, drugs legal or otherwise....as there solutions to fix most things. I would recommend to get the humidifier and the climate line for the S9 as your profile shows don't use humidifier Few tips from wiki may help http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tips_for_new_CPAP_users |
