Humidity - DariaVader - 02-05-2015

What humidity settings do people like?

The default on my S9 Auto is 3. I have considerable issue with sinus irritation with my cpap, and after reading several threads decided to try messing with it. I lowered it to 2.5 and immediately knew that will not suit, as I began coughing and couldn't stop. So, then I tried it 1 notch higher at 3.5, and the air was so thick! I left it that way and today have had one fractious headache all day Hammer So it seems that the default of 3 is going to be as good as it gets. But I was still curious what the majority use.

I am most comfortable with the humidifier turned off.

that sounds like a "none" vote on the poll?

DariaVader,
Good poll. I don't feel qualified to say. I liked the 4 the DME had set it to, but last night I slept with it at 1 and was fine too, though I kinda expect my nose to be less happy after a few nights at 1. So I think I like 4, maybe better results lower.

There's a poll? Oh yeah, there it is...

RE: Humidity - PaytonA - 02-05-2015

I would vote on your poll except I run my humidity w/heated hose on auto at 82 deg. F.

Best Regards,

PaytonA

pretty sure auto = 3 on the Resmeds.... at least if its on auto and you remove the climateline it is 3

RE: Humidity - Ghost1958 - 02-06-2015

Run my humidity on 5 in system one mode in summer and 3 with the heated hose in winter which is the max in both modes.

The thing I like about the PRS1 humidity set up is I can run humidity set maxed out but run no heated hose with no rain out in system one mode or I can run it maxed with the heated hose but set the hose temp at 1 which is only 4 degrees above ambient and not get that thick heavy air is to hot feeling.

No CPAP humidifier for me. I prefer none, since I don't like high-maintenance stuff, but I do run a room humidifier, so I'm not sure if that counts.
