Question about Mask Leaks - Sparkle - 02-22-2015 Hi everyone, As many of you know I had my dr appt this past week and he noticed a rash from my face mask. I have a mask fitting with the DME this coming week. In the meantime, I've been using gauze pads/makeup remover pads to line the portion of the mask that touches my face along with extra attention to face washing at night and there is some improvement in the rash. Last night I went a step further and used an eye mask that I put on first and then put the mask w/the gauze pad on over it. It seemed comfortable and not too bulky and I did sleep well. But this morning I had a red frowny face on my machine where there is usually a smily face on the mask leaks. It said the leak was 32L/Min. Yet I had 0.0 for AHI, Total AI and Total CI. Is it possible to have a large leak and have no AHI? RE: Question about Mask Leaks - Sleeprider - 02-22-2015 It's possible you had no apnea events, and it's likely your machine could not detect events, in the presence of large leaks. A large leak means too much air is escaping for the machine to maintain therapeutic pressure. It really affects the feedback the machine relies on to determine if you have an event, or to adjust pressure.
