OSCAR is available at the following web page: https://sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/
There are OSCAR versions available for Windows, Apple Mac and Linux.
You may also read the page in a number of different languages - the list of languages is along the top of the page.
OSCAR is open source software, and there are links to the source code near the bottom of the page. Note that this is for software developers - the great majority of users don't need to worry about the source code.
Windows version
32 bit or 64 bit
The Windows version is available as both 32 bit and 64 bit. In general the 32 bit version would be used on older computers and the 64 bit on later computers. If you are unsure which version to use, type "About Windows" into the Windows search bar. A new window will open giving details about your computer, including whether it is a 32 bit or 64 bit system. (See image) If you are still in doubt, select the 32 bit version.
- In page https://sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/ click the link for Windows 32 bit or 64 bit download.
- The installation file will now download to your computer
- The usual (default) location for a downloaded file is 'My Downloads' or 'C:\user\...\downloads' where the ... is replaced by your name (eg C:\user\Bill\downloads)

- Download OSCAR (tbd URL download page)
- Move the download file (OSCAR x.x.x-Winxx-067674CA.zip) to a new directory. Suggested C:\OSCAR
- Right click on the downloaded file (OSCAR 1.0.0-Winxx-067674CA.zip) and select "Extract All"
- Navigate to the OSCAR.exe (C:\OSCAR\OSCAR-x.x.x-Winxx\OSCAR-x.x.x\OSCAR.exe) This is the file you want to execute.
Windows, especially Windows 10 may attempt to protect your PC from this new download and the below popups may appear.
Click on the "More info" button, and then
Click on the "Run anyway"
Any additional Anti-Virus software that you are running may react in a similar manner.
