RE: how do you know what settings to choose
yes. begin to learn. first, since you have a visual screen that shows settings, it also should show you scores/values for certain data.
introduce your current situation by posting the following if you can read it. AHI - 1 day=___, 7 day=___ 90% pressure - 1 day=___, 7 day=___ (if you are really straight CPAP, both should read same as your CPAP setting) DAYS > 4 = ___ % periodic breathing - 1 day=___, 7 day=___ Does your machine have an SD card? Are you interested in using software and have you got a personal computer to use? AHI is number of significant events divided by the total amount of time (in hours) = events per hour (avg) 90% pressure - 90% of the time the pressure was at or below this value.

Can any one help I would not recommend changing settings until you also know how to get data onto your computer using EncoreBasic or Sleepyhead, and start to understand the meaning of the data. While it may appear many of us have taken control of our own therapy, it takes some research to make meaningful changes. Members of the forum can help you understand and interpret any issues and data, but there is no simple guide on what settings should be changed, without first defining the problem and objective. Until you get some software so you can see the results of what you change you really shouldnt be changing anything. Other then the comfort settings of course. Humidity flex etc
