RE: Additives for water tank
how do you safely avoid bacterial growth from the hose? You rinse it every day?

RE: Additives for water tank
Rinsing everyday is excessive, and will leave moisture in the tube.
Just wash the hose once a week, rinse well and air dry.
This is where an extra hose becomes a bonus, so you can switch hoses while one is drying.

Also, when you wake up in the morning, and remove your mask, let the "cool down" process work. It will blow a small amount of air through the hose in order to avoid condensation. It will stop automatically after approximately 30 minutes.

Your AS10 has a "cool-down" cycle that allows air to flow through the hose after usage for this purpose.   If you have a heavy presence of moisture after that, then you should be experiencing "rainout" while in use.  An increase in temperature of the ClimateLine heated hose, or a reduction in the humidity setting, will remedy this condition.

is it this a background process or can I check it is effectively happening?

If you place your hand by the hose opening, you will be able to feel the cool air. You normally can't hear it, but you should be able to feel it.

Also, during this process, look at the cpap's display screen (top right), you should see a small blue flashing snowflake. This tells you it is cooling down.
